Harrisburg Opera Association presented CANDIDE at The Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts. The production opened shortly after the events of September 11th. Bernstein's poignant work based on Voltaire's classic satire contained many universal themes which rang true during that time and presently. Some cast members that lived in New York City and witnessed the events dedicated their performances to the memory of all the victims, their families and the brave emergency responders and police officers who perished on that day.
